I just completed the Cultures and Craters tour in Tanzania. It was the most amazing experience. We went into the lives of some of the local tribes of the Kilimanjaro region and got to interact with them using a translator. We got to ask questions and also answer their questions about our lives. To top it all off a visit to the Ngorongoro Crater where we saw lions, elephants, buffalo, gazelle, hippos, zebras and so many birds. We even spotted a giraffe on the outer rim! I have just returned from Tanzania after experiencing the most amazing Culture and Craters tour with Lisa from Crooked Compass. I loved visiting places where there were no other tourists and having the opportunity to see locals in their daily life and having the opportunity to learn from them. Meditating while monks chanted was a powerful experience.
Our driver was respectful, friendly and helpful. He also kept an eye out for our general well being in the heat. The site guides he chose for us were all excellent.
