Arrive In Lima, Peru.
Arrive in Lima, where you will be met by your Tour Director.
This morning, your Local Guide focuses on the city's colonial heritage during a walking TOUR. Start at the Plaza de Armas to see the Government Palace and the cathedral. From here, stroll to the venerable SAN FRANCISCO MONASTERY with its splendid 17th-century cloister murals. For a special treat, stop at a LOCAL PERUVIAN FOOD MARKET to get a real taste of life for the local people. This evening, enjoy a welcome dinner at one of Lima's finest historic homes, CASA GARCIA ALVARADO, with your fellow travelling companions. (B/D)
Lima-Cusco-Sacred Valley.
Fly to Cusco, the impressive Andean city that was once the capital of the Inca Empire. Spend the day in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, starting with a visit to PISAC, an old mountain village where you will have free time to shop for local wares such as alpaca sweaters and blankets, jewelry, or hand-painted ornamental dishes and vases. Later, visit the Inca Fortress of OLLANTAYTAMBO followed by the opportunity to visit a home, meet some of the locals, and experience their way of life. Stay in the Sacred Valley tonight, and enjoy a special dinner outing with a PERUVIAN PASO HORSE SHOW. (B/L/D)
Sacred Valley-Machu Picchu.
This morning, board a TRAIN for a short journey through the lush Urubamba Valley. Then, transfer to a motorcoach for the ascent to legendary MACHU PICCHU, the "Lost City of the Incas," high above the steep valley overlaid with dense tropical jungle. Your Local Guide will bring you closer to the lives and mysteries still hidden in these amazing structures built by the pre-Columbian masters of this sacred land. Tonight, stay at a nearby hotel. (B/L/D)
Machu Picchu-Cusco.
Your entrance to MACHU PICCHU is included for a second day. Enjoy the tranquility of the morning, with free time to wander the ruins at your own pace and experience the magic that is Machu Picchu. After lunch, return to the Sacred Valley by TRAIN and continue on to Cusco. (B/L)
This morning on your Cusco city TOUR, learn more about the Incas and their struggle against invading Spaniards. Visit the imposing CATHEDRAL and the SANTO DOMINGO MONASTERY. Next, stop at the semi-circular KENKO Amphitheater with its stone altars and labyrinth of passages. See the ancient site of PUCA PUCARA before reaching the TEMPLE OF SACSAYHUAMAN, perched on a hillside overlooking Cusco. It remains unfathomable how and when this fortress of gigantic stones-with some blocks weighing more than 350 tons-was built. While at the ruins, experience an El Pago a la Tierra, or MOTHER EARTH CEREMONY, performed by a local shaman. These ceremonies thanking Mother Earth and asking for good health and safe travels have been practiced in Peru since before the arrival of the Incas. The remainder of your day is free to explore at your leisure. Tonight, your Tour Director hosts a memorable farewell dinner at a local restaurant. (B/D)
Bid farewell to your Tour Director in Cusco and board a flight to Lima. Meet a Local Guide and transfer to your hotel. The afternoon is at leisure to explore the city. (B)
Your tour ends with breakfast this morning. (B)

When can I expect to get my travel documents & itinerary?

Travel documents, including your paper tickets or e-ticket itineraries and other information, are posted by Global Journeys approximately two to three weeks prior to departure from Australia, provided full payment has been received.

Who else will be travelling with me?

The average number of people on a Globus tour is 38, and we limit the number of tour members on our tours to a maximum of 44. This ensures smaller groups giving you more space, comfort and legroom. However our Platinum Collection tours carry a maximum of 40 passengers.

Will the coach be modern and comfortable, and how many will be on tour with me?

If there is ever a time you'll appreciate choosing Globus, it's when you board our luxury coaches. In Europe for instance, we limit our group size to just 44 people with the average group size being 38, this means fewer seats providing extra legroom for greater comfort. With panoramic windows, air-conditioning, state-of-the-art sound system and reclining seats, you'll journey in style when travelling from one superb destination to the other. Our Platinum Collection tours carry a maximum of 40 passengers. We offer daily rotation of seating, which gives everyone a variety of views.

What is the difference between a tour director and a local guide? What are they like?

Your tour director will accompany you from the start to the end of your tour, educating you on the places and the history of the destination. Local guides are included in many cities to give you in-depth information on the culture, history and attractions of the city. Both Tour Director and Local Guides have a passion for travel, people and the destination and look forward to sharing their passion with you. If you chose to book either a "pre" or "post" - vacation extension, please note that your Tour Director may not escort you during this part of your vacation. However, in such cases, a Local Host will be available should you require any assistance.

Do the prices include tips to Tour Directors, Drivers & Local Guides?

It is customary worldwide to pay tips to Tour Directors and Drivers on all international vacations and these are not included in your quote. The option to prepay these tips prior to departure is possible however. Please ask your consultant to include this in your quote. You will receive Gratuity vouchers with your travel documents and all you need to do is give this to the Tour Director and driver or Cruise Director and ship's crew at the end of the vacation.

Does Globus offer more tours that are not printed within each brochure?

Yes, Globus offers over 200 tours worldwide and it's not possible to include them all in a brochure. All tours are featured on our website however!

I'm finding it difficult to match two tours together?

Have you considered pre or post tour accommodation? We offer fantastic rates hard to find elsewhere and this may enable you to select sequential tours with minimal disruption to your intended travel plans.

Do you have a share program for singles?

Globus do not take reservations on a "share" basis. Sidestep the single room supplement by travelling with a friend if you can.

Where can I find out more information on Globus?
