The food story of the Foothills of Alberta’s Rocky Mountains, west of Calgary, is a remarkable one. The climate is harsh, winters are long and cold. And yet, a few hardy souls persevere to grow some of the tastiest food you can find.

Ramble the range roads off Alberta’s historic Cowboy Trail to meet some of Alberta’s premier food-producing families. You may get up close and personal with a giant prairie beast that came frighteningly close to extinction – the Great Plains Bison. Or meet a family that innovated a traditional honey operation into a thriving new enterprise. Enjoy a special Farm to Fork welcome lunch of exclusively local fare by an exceptional chef.

Finally, there is time to mosey around a small cowboy town before arriving into Banff where you will settle into your three night Special Stay at the Fairmont Banff Springs. (B/L)
