Las Vegas - Zion National Park (2 Nights)
Depart the glittering oasis of Sin City for the Valley of Fire, named for its red sandstone formations. This is Nevada’s oldest and largest state park. Continue on to the gorgeous wonderland that is Zion National Park. Inside the park marvel at the graceful slot canyons, towering cliffs and awe-inspiring monoliths, all carved out of the orange sandstone over the course of 200 million years. On to The Zion Canyon Giant Screen Theater to see the film Zion Canyon Treasure of the Gods. The theatre's screen is the largest in Utah and one of the largest in the world measuring 18 metres (60 feet) high and 25 metres (82 feet) across. Zion National Park Sightseeing & Free Time
Take the entire day to immerse yourself in the beauty of Zion. Begin with a guided naturalist walk with a Local Expert, and be amazed at the otherworldly Zion Canyon. Later, enjoy time on your own to hike the park, wander trails or use the park shuttle to explore further. Stretch your legs on a leisurely stroll along the Virgin River up to the Temple of Sinawava to peek at the start of the Zion Narrows slot canyon or hike up to the three Emerald Pools. Day
4
Zion National Park - Bryce Canyon National Park
Leaving behind the splendour of Zion, head into the scenic area of Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park. A photographer's delight, the dunes of warm, pink sand are also a favourite place to ride off-highway vehicles. Continue the journey into Bryce Canyon National Park, home to the world's largest concentration of hoodoos, those towering limestone spires that seem to rise majestically from the desert floor. From the rim of the amphitheatre, gaze down upon thousands of pink, orange and yellow pinnacles, the result of millions of years of erosion. You may even spot one of the park's bristlecone pines, the world's longest-living trees! This evening, gather with your travelling compadres for a Western dinner and show. (B/D) Stay: BW Bryce Canyon Grand Hotel
Day
5
Bryce Canyon National Park - Grand Staircase - Escalante National Monument - Torrey
This morning, depart Bryce Canyon for the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, which spans eons of time and is a territory of multi-coloured cliffs, plateaus, mesas, buttes, pinnacles, and canyons. The tilted terraces of the Staircase step up in great technicolor cliffs of vermilion, white, gray and pink. Next visit Anasazi State Park, sheltering the ruins of an ancient Native American village, one of the largest Ancestral Puebloan communities found west of the Colorado River. Head to Torrey this evening, travelling scenic Highway 12, and wander the quaint town's shops and galleries. Butch Cassidy once visited and legend has it the town was named after one of Theodore Roosevelt's Rough Riders, Colonel Torrey. (FB) Stay: BW Capitol Reef Resort

Torrey - Capitol Reef National Park - Moab (3 Nights)
Travelling through the heart of red rock country, arrive in Capitol Reef National Park. See cliffs, canyons, domes, and bridges in the Waterpocket Fold, a geologic monocline (a wrinkle on the earth) extending almost 160 kilometres (100 miles). The area has been a homeland to people for thousands of years. Petroglyphs etched in rock walls and painted pictographs remain as sacred remnants of the ancient Indians' saga. Then it's onward to Goblin Valley State Park, one of Utah's most popular parks. It offers incredible scenery and the goblin-like hoodoos here are unique and fun for all ages. Today you'll also see a naturalist presentation, from a Local Expert on the ecology of the southwestern desert. End your day's journey with a Cowboy Cookout at the lodge. (B/D) Stay: Red Cliffs Lodge

What are Trafalgar Tour Directors like?

Sightseeing is fun but it's a Trafalgar Tour Director that really brings a destination to life. Our Tour Directors are the finest in the industry. Their local knowledge and unfailing friendliness provides you with a personalised “concierge” service which ensures you get the very best out of every single day. They are experienced travellers, learned historians and culture buffs. Through their in-depth expertise, you'll discover the history and be immersed in cultures of the places you visit.

Your Tour Directors can help interpret, show you how to get good value while shopping and how to spot a fake from the real deal. They make things smoother, more interesting and ultimately more enjoyable. They are your friend in an unfamiliar place.

Trafalgar also uses expert local guides to further enhance your sightseeing experience. When you are travelling on your own it's all too easy to pass through a place without touching the sides. That's why our expert local guides are so invaluable – they tell the less well known tales, relate the more curious stories, recall the most obscure events and reveal the best guarded secrets to ensure every moment is full of discovery and brimming with surprises.

What does the tour cost include?

The prices listed cover all accommodations, all applicable sightseeing and admissions as per the itinerary, motorcoach, cruise or rail transportation, services of a professional Trafalgar Tour Director, all meals as shown in the itinerary and luggage handling.
