Travel to Corcovado, and see the iconic statue of Christ the Redeemer. Visit the statue and stand on the platform at its peak for stunning views across the city. Rio de Janeiro, Iguassu Falls (Brazil)

Board your flight to Iguassu Falls, an impressive series of waterfalls which straddle the borders of Argentina and Brazil. This afternoon walk to a viewing platform for a panoramic view of the falls. Get up close to the thundering cascades on a Jet Boat Ride Safari. Tonight dine at Ipê Grill at your hotel. Stay Two Nights: Iguassu Falls, Hotel das Cataratas (B/D)

Iguassu Falls

Today we venture into the Argentinian side of the falls. Ride the Rainforest Ecological Train through the forest to a series of walkways and viewing points, including one directly over the 82 metre-deep Devil's Throat. (B)

This morning, embark on your chosen activity. Perhaps head to the island town of Tigre where you can enjoy a cruise over the waterways of the Paraná Delta. Alternatively, explore the ways in which Buenos Aires has been influenced by Paris during a walking tour, or perhaps head to Teatro Colón to absorb the remarkable ambience and grandeur of one of the finest opera houses in the world. Buenos Aires, Ushuaia, Embark Antarctica Cruise

Drake Passage

Sail across the Drake Passage, where the Atlantic and Pacific oceans meet between Cape Horn and the South Shetland Islands. To cross the Drake Passage, making your way ever closer to the White Continent, is to achieve one of the great travel milestones. During this time, you'll learn all about the adventures ahead as you participate in a range of informative, interactive and entertaining presentations on the wildlife, history and geology of Antarctica delivered by your expert Expedition Team in your ship's theatre. Antarctic Peninsula

On arrival in Antarctica, your itinerary becomes flexible in order to maximise your discovery of this enchanting world of ice and water. Utilising the vast knowledge of your experienced naturalist guides and Expedition Leader, your Captain will charter a course based on the most exciting sightseeing opportunities available and the most favourable ice and weather conditions.

For the next six days, you'll enjoy morning and afternoon Zodiac rides with your Expedition Team, getting you right up close to the glaciers. Experience some of the most unique wildlife viewing in the world as you're taken to visit gentoo, chinstrap and Adélie penguin rookeries. You're also likely to encounter Weddell, crabeater, leopard and Antarctic fur seals. These chilly waters are often frequented by hunting orca and the breaching forms of humpback and minke whales, so be sure to keep an eye out.

Although landing sites will vary depending on conditions, the route will feature the most scenic bays and channels, including the stunning Lemeire Channel and Neko Bay, where icebergs loom in a shade of captivating blue. Head to the shores of Deception Island, an active volcano surrounded by distinctive black sand. Here you'll see impressive elephant seals. During your time around the Peninsula, you may even get the chance to stop at Port Lockroy, an active scientific base currently studying gentoo penguins. Here, you can send a postcard with a rare Antarctic stamp. (B/L/D)


Drake Passage

The adventure, and the wildlife spotting, continues as you bid farewell to the beautiful waters surrounding the Antarctic Peninsula and return across the Drake Passage back towards Ushuaia. Keep an eye of for seabirds and marine mammals as you may sight majestic Albatross, imperial shags, orca, dolphins and whales. (B/L/D)

Disembark Ship, Ushuaia, Fly to Buenos Aires

Bid farewell to Le Lyrial as you disembark in Ushuaia and travel to the airport for your included flight to Buenos Aires. On arrival, you'll be transferred to your hotel. Stay: Buenos Aires, Alvear Palace Hotel (B)

Buenos Aires, Lima (Peru)

Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu

Witness the dazzling sight of the Maras salt mines, where thousands of salt pools spill over the side of a steep terraced slope. Still to this day these mines are cultivated to produce salt. Then, travel to the Moray archaeological site, a fascinating collection of ancient terraced fields which were likely used by the Inca for agricultural experiments. Here, enjoy stunning views out over the deep terraces and surrounding mountains and valley during lunch at El Parador de Moray. (B/L)
