15 Day La France Reviews

Tour reviews from past clients of Global Journeys. 4 Reviews. Average Rating 4.3 of 5.

A thoroughly enjoyable experience which reflects the diversity of France. We felt visiting Lourdes should be in the Religious Tours Brochure and substituted with an extra day in another City eg. Lyon, Carcassone or re-routed to Tolouse or Avignon. Accommodation in Lourdes was below standard. Included Dinners/Lunch were very good and much appreciated. Apart from the above comments the Tour is exceptionally good value and all areas visited both interesting and beautiful. Optional Extra Tours were worthwhile and really enjoyable. Nives, our Tour Director was outstanding with great depth of knowledge in all areas and the Specialist Guides were excellent. We were very impressed with the Global Journeys service & experience and have recommended them to other Tour participants. Thank you Globus, and Hannah at Global Journeys.

We had a marvellously good time. It was simply a combination of a well varied tour that took in a wide variety of areas of France, interesting travel companions, good hotels, good meals and generally good tour options all coordinated by quirky, knowledgeable tour guide. While it was not an issue for us because we had extra time in Paris before and after the tour, the organised tour only provided a limited insight and impresssion of Paris for those just doing the tour. If you have time, spend a whole day at Versailles. The afternoon optional tour is just too short. Similarly for the Louvre. However, perhaps that should be qualified to say, go to the Louvre outside the holiday period. The crowd was insane.

Who else and how many will be travelling with me?

The average number of people on a Globus tour is 38, and we limit the number of tour members on our tours to a maximum of 44. This ensures smaller groups giving you more space, comfort and legroom. However our Platinum Collection tours carry a maximum of 40 passengers.

Will the coach be modern and comfortable, and how many will be on tour with me?

If there is ever a time you'll appreciate choosing Globus, it's when you board our luxury coaches. In Europe for instance, we limit our group size to just 44 people with the average group size being 38, this means fewer seats providing extra legroom for greater comfort. With panoramic windows, air-conditioning, state-of-the-art sound system and reclining seats, you'll journey in style when travelling from one superb destination to the other. Our Platinum Collection tours carry a maximum of 40 passengers. We offer daily rotation of seating, which gives everyone a variety of views.

What is the difference between a tour director and a local guide? What are they like?

Your tour director will accompany you from the start to the end of your tour, educating you on the places and the history of the destination. Local guides are included in many cities to give you in-depth information on the culture, history and attractions of the city. Both Tour Director and Local Guides have a passion for travel, people and the destination and look forward to sharing their passion with you. If you chose to book either a "pre" or "post" - vacation extension, please note that your Tour Director may not escort you during this part of your vacation. However, in such cases, a Local Host will be available should you require any assistance.

Do the prices include tips to Tour Directors, Drivers & Local Guides?

It is customary worldwide to pay tips to Tour Directors and Drivers on all international vacations and these are not included in your quote. The option to prepay these tips prior to departure is possible however. Please ask your consultant to include this in your quote. You will receive Gratuity vouchers with your travel documents and all you need to do is give this to the Tour Director and driver or Cruise Director and ship's crew at the end of the vacation.

Does Globus offer more tours that are not printed within each brochure?

Yes, Globus offers over 200 tours worldwide and it's not possible to include them all in a brochure. All tours are featured on our website however!

I'm finding it difficult to match two tours together?

Have you considered pre or post tour accommodation? We offer fantastic rates hard to find elsewhere and this may enable you to select sequential tours with minimal disruption to your intended travel plans.

What is the benefit of travelling on the Eurostar high speed train?

Globus uses the Eurostar for all channel crossing from London to Europe. The Eurostar takes you from the heart of London to the centre of Paris in 2 hours 15 minutes or Brussels in around 2 hours, while other operators will travel all day using coach, ferry and coach. With Globus you effective get an extra half day to explore in each direction.

What can my London Host offer me?

Your host is there to help you with all your questions on London, they will provide you with maps, directions and a wide range of tours to ensure you see the best of London. Whether it be a city orientation tour, or dinner and a West End show your host will provide you with all the information and assistance you require.
