Itinerary

Straight out of a Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale, the capital of Denmark is storybook picture perfect and brimming with character.

On arrival, transfer to your hotel, then spend the rest of the day discovering the city your way before meeting your Travel Director and fellow travelers for a Welcome Reception. Embrace the hygge ways of the fun-loving locals when you hit the colorful streets of Copenhagen, soak up the atmosphere in Tivoli Gardens or relax with a drink in Nyhavn. It's the perfect introduction to your upcoming journey across Scandinavia. (WR) Stay: Marriott

A Local Specialist reveals all the highlights of Copenhagen and some hidden gems on this morning's sightseeing tour. See the home of the Danish royal family, Amalienborg Palace, the Little Mermaid sitting demurely on a rock overlooking the dark blue harbor water and the 17th-century Stock Exchange. After learning all there is to know about Copenhagen, you'll have an afternoon to explore the city your way. You could choose instead to join our Optional Experience visit to the idyllic fishing village of Dragør with its maze of alleyways and tiny yellow-walled thatched cottages in the old Danish style. (B)

The rest of Scandinavia beckons and Sweden's capital is less than a day away. You'll leave Copenhagen this morning, traveling north to Helsingør. Here you'll board the ferry to Sweden and begin your journey across lush green spruce-clad landscapes to Stockholm. Keep your camera at hand as the enchanting scenery unfolds around you. Arriving in Stockholm later, you'll have the evening free for the perfect introduction to ‘Beauty on the Water' as the city is lovingly referred to by its locals. (B) Stay: Elite Palace

Loved this tour! It covered lots of ground in 20 days, with some long days on the coach and lots of short ferry rides. Guide Xavier and Drivers Janos & Gabor were exceptional. Fellow travellers were a great mix of lovely people from Australia, the US, Canada and NZ. Would recommend this tour.
Nordic Adventure 1 , NSW, Australia, Jun 2022
Thanks to Georgie for booking this trip. Pleasure dealing with her. I will definitely be booking more trips with her. Trafalgar tour was great. Good travel director and excellent coach driver. Beautiful scenic Scandinavia. Geiranger fiord and the mountains were spectacular. Did not get to see the midnight sun at North Cape as it was raining. Norway ...read more is a beautiful scenic country.

Note to Trafalgar - Some of the hotels were not great. No hot water in the Santa Claus hotel. Freezing cold as well. Trafalgar needs to assess this. Going by ferry from Stockholm to Helsinki was a wasted journey. Over 16 hours on a crowded ferry, cabins were small and claustrophobic. Better off driving from Stockholm to Helsinki and get to see more of Sweden and Finland.
Great Nordic Adventure 2 , Australia, Jun 2019
Great adventure. Breathtaking scenery and a fantastic Tour Director (Rebecca Blott) and Driver (Atilla). Easy Booking with Global Journeys. First time that we saw reindeer. Will book again with Global Journeys and Trafalgar.
Amazing beauty of Norway   4 , NSW, Australia, May 2019
We did the Nordic Adventure with Trafalgar. We travelled through 4 countries and were most impressed with the amazing beauty of Norway. Highlights were travelling through the most beautiful fjord at Geiranger and then North Cape to see the midnight sun. Friends said our photos looked like paintings.

Thanks to Yvonne for once again making our bookings ...read more easy. This is the 4th trip she has arranged for us.

Excellent service from Georgie of Global Journeys, very pleased that we use Global Journeys to book our holidays.

As for Trafalgar's Nordic Adventure, we had a very good Tour Director. We enjoyed the tour with a few adjustments that would make this tour worth our recommendation. The ferry ride between Copenhagen and Oslo was not a good experience, ...read more long wasted time, crowded, no place to sit. Travelling by coach would have been better or a better ferry, just a overnight, not being boarded at 3pm and off at 11am. Lapland down to Helsinki needs to see how it can be improved as we had 2 days of Pine and Birch trees on flat land as scenery.
Three cheers for Trafalgar's Nordic Adventure!   7 , NSW, Australia, Jun 2018
Aptly on Mid-Summer's Day we started our Nordic Adventure with Trafalgar Tours together with 35 new friends from Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the US and South Africa. Our tour director was brilliant - informative, caring, humorous and unflappable. Likewise our coach driver - his first time on this 5000+km itinerary and not one scary moment.

We ...read more had excellent weather for most of the time though the North Cape of Norway and Arctic Finland were shrouded in mist but this had its own atmosphere effect. Highlights are difficult to choose as there were so many, but the Geiranger Fjord area with its nearby Dalsnibba, Eagle and Trollistgen roads challenge anything the Alps can offer in mountainous scenery and hair-pin roads. Turning the street corner in Helsinki and seeing the gleaming white Helsinki Lutheran Cathedral was breathtaking. The booking through Global Journeys was easy and with very rapid responses to questions - thanks to Madeline.
