Today you will explore the small village of Koh Chen, which specialises in silver and copperware. While here, visit home-workshops that manufacture handmade copper souvenirs, and gain an understanding of the craftsmanship that is involved in their production. After your time in Koh Chen, head to the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh. Perhaps enjoy some time to relax aboard your ship or enjoy leisure time to explore this intriguing city. (B/L/D)

Phnom Penh, Freedom of Choice

After breakfast, disembark in Phnom Penh and embark on your selected Freedom of Choice sightseeing activity. Perhaps enjoy a guided tour of the dazzling white and gold Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, which is located on the south side of the palace complex and houses many national treasures. Alternatively, you may wish to discover some of Cambodia's sobering history with a moving excursion to the infamous Killing Fields, before visiting the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, located on the site of the Khmer Rouge's notorious Security Prison 21 (S-21). Here, you'll learn of the atrocities inflicted upon Cambodians during Pol Pot's Khmer Rouge regime in the mid-to-late 1970s. Your other options are a visit to the Cambodian National Museum or an exciting guided city tour in an authentic tuk tuk. (B/L/D)

In the quaint city of Sa Dec, enjoy a small-boat ride past floating markets, then disembark to visit a Cao Dai temple. You'll also enjoy a guided tour of Huynh Thuy Le's old house and learn the story behind Marguerite Duras' best-selling novel, The Lover. Then continue on to Cai Be. Step ashore to see its French Gothic Cathedral, then explore its colourful port area and delight in its colonial buildings and flower gardens. Afterwards, attend a memorial service at Long Tan Cross, a memorial erected by the 6th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment, which is set in a rubber plantation where Australian soldiers lost their lives. Alternatively, visit the Cu Chi Tunnels, an incredible tunnel network constructed by Vietnamese resistance fighters during the war. These tunnels served as Viet Cong hiding spots, supply and communication routes, hospitals and weapon caches, and make for a fascinating visit.
